What is a Small Business?
For statistical purposes, is identified as those businesses which employ
less than 20 people. Non-employing businesses are those that are sole
proprietorships or partnerships, and do not have any employees. Micro
businesses are those that employ less than five people, including non-employing
businesses. Agricultural businesses are not included in statistical
small business counts.
