There are lots of business types and structures operating within each
industry sector. Sometimes these are affected by its geographical region
and will to some degree, determine the range of work experience options
it can offer. Consider your preferences as they relate to:
- the size of a business - large, medium, small
- the type of business activity - community, state, national or international
and whether its operations are based and operated domestically or
internationally
- whether a new or an established business
- perceived working culture - is its atmosphere hectic, structured
or orderly; pressured or calm and is its market tumultuous or safe;
and
- whether it is private or public sector - federal, state, local
government, funded agency or, ‘for profit’ or ‘not
for profit’
Now that you have a clearer understanding of your preferences for industry
sector and business types, you can now begin to compile your action
planner.
